About SBO Swampy

SBO Swampy is an artist from London, Ontario, Canada. His start in music came almost by accident when a school friend who had some recording software asked him to come over and try making music. Since then, he has been creating and releasing music under the name SBO Swampy which he derived from his real-life experiences. ‘SBO’ stands for ‘Shinobi Black Ops’, which was a collective that Swampy was part of through Highschool. ’Swampy’ was a nickname he got when he was younger and for one reason or another, it stuck.  

 It was initially the clothing styles and collective mentality of the trap rap scene that inspired Swampy towards trap music but the musical influence was soon to follow. Swampy grew up in a musical household with his father and older brothers playing music and introducing him to different genres. But it didn’t take long for Swampy to begin pulling influence from his generation’s popular artists and creatives like Playboi Carti, ASAP Rocky, and Ian Connor, who Swampy looked up to as a local London artist.  

Over the last four years, SBO Swampy has been experimenting and creating within the London music scene to hone his darker, psychedelic trap sound. Recording regularly with local engineers, producers, and artists like SBOSane and 2Times, SBO Swampy continues to push himself to be better every time he walks into the recording booth. It’s this devotion to his craft and his confidence that comes through in his music and the way he holds himself. “This is it and I’m not gonna give up till I’m on top”, says Swampy. Though his community has helped him develop and grow as an artist, it is only the beginning. As of late 2020, SBO Swampy has signed to Morojele Music Group and since then, he has released “Autopilot”, “No Friends” and “Moving Up” featuring label affiliate Flash Milla. Swampy is determined to continue building himself as an artist and reaching his goals.
